A Note from the Founder:

Hello 

 

I am Gemma. 

​

I decided I wanted to fix a problem. 

(A pretty big one at that…)

 

After the traditional 9-5 jobs failed to stick I found myself within the yachting industry. Fast forward a few years and I realised how much of an impact the industry is having on our oceans and how ironic that was given that without the oceans, there would be no industry. Then I realised, I can do something about this. 

 

Working as yacht crew I could see what was being done and how even just a small positive changes could make a difference, my mentality is that it was billions of unsustainable actions that got us in the situation we are in now, so it will take billions of sustainable ones to reverse that. Not such an easy task, but a necessity for our future.

Through Seastainable Yachting I want to scrap this old dialogue of ‘superyachts are never going to be sustainable, so why bother’ completely and refresh this with a new way of thinking, to encourage a new dimension into the way yachts are run by the cogs that keep them afloat, the crew.
